The young carer survival kit was created by a group of young people with caring responsibilities for young people with caring responsibilities. It is intended to be used by carer support professionals to help young people reflect on their caring role.

The young carer survival kit was created by a group of young people with caring responsibilities for young people with caring responsibilities. It is intended to be used by carer support professionals to help young people reflect on their caring role.

It is bright, colorful, humorous and varied – adaptable to many contexts.  Use it creatively to focus on positives and skills and to provide starting points for conversations about caring, challenges and strengths.

The kit contains:

  • four different types of cards – cards with questions, cards with objects, blank cards and sorting cards. The objects on the cards are ones chosen by young carers as important in supporting them in their caring role. (available when you purchase the full kit)
